what kind of Anthias?
what gender are they?

I had a gorup of 5 Square anthias in my old 144 half circle and they killed one another fighting for dominance...was a male and 4 females. Sometimes a female will challenge the male for dominance and neither will let up. Adding more females can help too.

-Lights out for a day or two
-pull the stronger and throw in sump for a few days until the weaker one has a chance to get comfortable..but this can be a problem is the weaker is a female challenging for the male's position or a sub dominant female challenging for the dominant female position.
-increase feedings

if you have 2 females one should be a male within a couple of weeks so they may just be duking it out. I have never kept lyretail only know what I have read about them. I'd probably just let the fighting take it's course and hope for the best. Being that you have probably seen some serious clownfish battles being a breeder and all this should be a walk in the park lol

just a thought...but if they are two lyretail females and duking it out for the male spot and they are both evenly matched...perhaps throwing one in a net breeder (preferably the weaker one of the two if you can tell which)...then the one in the display will be encouraged to turn male... BUT they both need to be able to see one another so that they both don't turn male. Once one is a male there should be minimal fighting. Just a thought...really not sure what I'm talking about.

I believe Rob is correct. My lyretails did the same thing. The dominant female actually took out the male and starting her morph into a male. She also took out a much smaller then her for good measure. In hindsight, it seems better to make sure the male is the largest of the school while ensuring the females are about the same size so the fighting doesn't lead to death.
