Ok so I'm an idiot. It had been so long since I set up my oddly drilled tank, that I forgot why "that ugly tube sticks up from the middle." My return. The other day I hacked it off and hid it with a couple big pieces of rock (covered the mouth with produce mesh and a trimmed zip tie). Holy crap, so much better.. lol. Except NOW, if my electricity were to go off while I was at HEB buying some blue moon, I would come home to find Moses standing in my entryway.

So.. Anyone know of a legit, pro-grade, brand of check valve that can deliver me some piece of mind?

go look at the bulk reef website there's one that can serviced incase something gets caught or needs cleaning. may be good idea to add a ball valve before it so you can shut it off to service it

We can get in a swing arm check valve which has 0 metal parts and works beautifully. It is also a "true union" style so that the check valve can be removed from your plumbing. I would place a standard ball valve on the tank side of this so you could remove it without draining your tank.

Chris, do you mean the long, cylindrical MUR-LOK valve, or another one?

Steven, thanks but I'm in Austin. I'm really looking for a recommended, proven brand or style, as I'd like to check locally first to get this nipped asap.

Please explain Steven! Pm me. I don't wanna hijack.

Also, Dominican, there is a Polly's in new braunfels. Not Austin but a lil closer.

I now have one on the way. Thx Chris.

There's already had a ball valve on the return, so this'll go right below it. Can't stress how much better this'll make me feel!

your welcome, it's pricey but serviceable which is nice and clear so you can see what's going on
