Just curious if anybody has tried the squared HIGH Powered 50 WATT and 100 WATT LEDs?
I know that the life is half of that of 3 WATT LEDs but that still 20000 hrs.
Thats pretty good considering the costs comparisons.

I'd think it would need a pretty big heatsink.

Yes Cannon makes a pendant with the square 50 watt LED. Hero LED has parts too.

I think you mean the ecoxotic cannon?

You might want to ask him about the lights. Last i remember he said they weren't enough and that is why he had to put metal halide over the tank as well.

You can get stronger emitters. Im liking this. There are many different sized emitters.
50, 60, 70, . . . 100 WATTS on up
You dont have to use the cannon for these.

I will be leaning towards the 50WATT emitter.
1. wider range of coverage no lense
2. penetrates deeper in the sw
3. can be replaced
4. lower costs

the ones louis has are the 100 or 150 and par levels didn't cut it. when we did measurements we where very disappointed. light coverage is very spotlight like

The lights are growing coral so par seems to be ok. I thought The cannon had a 150 degree angle spread. Surprised it acted like a spotlight. There is no lense. Of course that is a huge tank yall were trying to light.
