I figured I'd start another tank, since I had my 3g with water still in it sitting I figured it would be a good tank to do something with.
Back California alot of marine plants were banned, so I never really considered a marine planted tank.
so i have a 3g with a ac110 and a 70w mh I figure it would be a waste for them to sit. So today I went to the shop and built a simple plywood stand/hood for it, I dont want to paint it, but I didn't edge band it(would have taken a couple hours) so i just left it, if I get really into this tank ill do something about it.
I also put a 3" piece of acrylic in the tank so i can fill the back of the tank higher with sand for the mangroves.
I built it tall so the mangroves can grow tall and u can see them.
I'm also going to cut the intake on the filter so its higher in the tank, and paint the back black.
I'm also going to put a smaller impeller on the filter to slow the flow down.

I'm going to stock it with mangroves, different macros and eventually dwarf sea horses.

Pics up next

The MH, what are you going to run on it? 65k? 10k?

I think this will be an awesome build and grow... I wonder if it would have been a good idea to build the top so that you could raise it over time. Mangroves get pretty tall, don't they?

Going to be a neat experiment.
