View Full Version : Need Help Identifying 2 Corals

These two corals were part of a tank buy our and I'm not familiar with either one.

This one, I'm not sure if the color is from previous sub par lights...the 'polyps' close up below the mat:

This one is recovering nicely, the 'polyps' retract fully into the honeycomb like skeleton:

Not sure about the first one, but the second looks like a flower pot coral.

That's what I was leaning towards with the second one, I just had never seen a mint green one. Thanks for the help.

First one looks like a cluster of pale green palythoas...

I have palys and zoas and the first one doesn't act or look like them. This coral's polyps do not extend further out from the mat than what is picture and they close up inside the mat unlike zoas & palys who form bumps on top.

I know what the first picture is becuase I have the same kind of coral. Its a type of crater polyp coral. Not sure of the true scientific name right now. I found it once but cant remember it. You can see mine it this photo. Its on the back right. The wife loves this coral.
