Sand

Anybody still have buckets of sand sitting around? I need to fill a 150. I have some which is kind of coarse, which I may use to keep it from blowing around, but I need more and just wanted to see if anybody had anything else before I picked up the rest of what I need.

I have a bucket of the coarse sand, I just wanted something fine for this tank....even though coarse is better for powerheads.

Also petco has sugar fine white sand for $4 a bag.

I would avoid the sugar fine sand. It clumps up after time and looks very bad when it does.

I plan to put a small shark in here for a little while, which is why I need something fine. I think the sand I have is too course for sharks. I don't want it to clump though.

Ha ha. If you need sand. LR or something like that i got you covered. Plus i have a pair of oakleys from five years ago going strong. I was eyeing the fishing ones though. Nice pair. Always nice to have. Wish i could help. Looking forward to the build though. Ha ha.

Thanks. Is it play sand? Have you used it? The PS I used in my FW tank a few years ago had a bad way of keeping the water cloudy. Either that or my filters sucked.

i got it from joshua on here. He used it and loved it. Clifton (jestergrin1) wanted to steal it from me. So I'm assuming it's good. Never used it personally. I was stock piling sand for my builds.

I've also got about 60lbs of sugar sized Oolitic aragonite if you need more.

Yeah..you too. Cool thing is this setup is already built, just converting it from FW. Going to try skimmerless, it's got pretty decent filtration already. We'll see how that works out. Maybe an ATS is in the works too. If not, I have a skimmer chamber. I'll take some pictures and start a thread when there is something to show.
