Check Elegant, Dipan has a par meter he keeps up there and allows charter members to check out and use. If you get a hold of it, let me know, I need to re-test my lights and have not been able to catch that thing at ER for the last few months.

I'm assuming that its best to check the par meter out and return it directly to Louis. I can see room for error otherwise. If/when I get to use, I'll be sure post when I return it to give folks a heads up.

Picked up the par meter today and can use some suggestions. My frag tank has (2) 150mh 14k pheonix and (14) 3w Cree blues and royal blues. Just below the water surface is 900ish par. 200ish on the sand bed and 380 to 450 where my frag racks sit--about half way down. I think I have too much light. I keep mainly zoas/palys in there. I'm thinking of remaking my racks to sit a couple of inches above the sand. Par is about 250ish there. How much light is too much for zoas and what would be optimal? Everything is doing just fine where it is though..I guess ignorance really is bliss...

From what I've read and experienced. Zoas and palys can take a lot of light. And will sometimes cause morphs (don't know the truth behind that) in reaction to said high amounts of lights. But i have had zoas and palys really close to my 250 mhs and they grow like weeds. Still have them pretty clise to my mhs.

Tuan,

Here's my results from when I used the meter. Hope it helps alleviate some of your concerns.
