So I wake up this morning to a wet floor as I have external reservoir for my insump skimmer..
Somethibg set it off overnight.... And only 2 things I did last night was turn my mp40s to NTM and before that, maybe a hour or so, fed some what heavy as I didn't feed all day and felt like a bad dad..........
My skimmer has never went crazy like that, and I have been thinking about another way to route my skimmer.....
How do you have yours or do you not use a reservoir, just the cup?

No reservoir here, I got real tired of mopping up. My skimmer sits inside my sump, so if it freaks out and overflows at least there is no water on the floor.

Thinking that's what needs to be done.... This is the first to me and I want it to be the last... I was thinking of a small in sump reservoir....

My skimmer went nuts a few times, so I know the feeling of seeing 40 gallons in the carpet. Mine drains into a bucket and the bucket is plumbed back into the sump at the very top, so if it fills the bucket over night, it will just drain the rest into the sump.

You think 2 battling nems could have caused this?
My RBTA and tube nem have been getting pretty close and I think he got too close for comfort and I found the RBTA on the sand bed under my tube that is inside of my LR......
I haven't checked parameters everything looks okay except my toadstool that hasn't opened up...

he doesnt dose. i say it was the heavy feeding at one time that made it go haywire.
longer tube.... hole in wall to garage and let it drain freely under garage door.

I did dose a little of that kent pro buffer to raise my alkalinity as it was a little low......
See bro thats how long you been away.... I'm testing and learning to dose.. Lol... Nah I won't go that far yet but it was a little low and my calcium a little high.... Trying to balance it.. But that was a few days ago.... I did nothing in the past 3 days or so......
I honestly think is was the nems.....

Could have been the nems.
I have also had a skimmer go nuts by getting the air intake clogged a little. Couldn't figure out why I was having to adjust it so often and then it went nuts. After a good cleaning I never had the problem again. It was on an older Octopus skimmer.
I also have no reservoir on mine.
