I have a dilemma. I purchased a blue ribbon eel from bluezooaquatics. I read up them and all and well, "challenge accepted!" I have been working with him every day and now I'm on day 7 with no positive feedings. He actually accepted a fish took it into his cave and a minute later it came floating out. I've seen him biting at the hermits also. I wanted to see if anyone possibly down by port a would be willing to send me feeders. Peps, grass shrimp, baby crabs. What ever will last more than 20 mins in the tank. I'm looking for 100-200 misc feeders. Txt me if you can help. 2542455472

A couple of our sponsors sell ghost shrimp. You might try some of those, just gut load them first. Good luck with the eel, they are pretty cool.

Ghost shrimp are fresh water. I can get those at petsmart. I need saltwater feeders that will last in my tank to accommodate his finicky diet. Any one out there that can help me?

Ghost shrimp will acclimate to SW. Some shops have ghost shrimp 10 for a buck.

Right, I've seen ghost shrimp in both Salt and Fresh. I have a couple in my daughters FW tank.

This is true, basically a brackish water shell fish, that can live in both fresh and saltwater.. Id also say its not uncommon even after seven days for the eel not to eat. I had a fish that took up to 2 weeks almost...

When I had my moray I would go to HEB and stock load on Shrimp, squid and scallops. Loved it.

While some ghost shrimp will acclimate, they usually don't last. Grass shrimp which are seasonally harvested from marshes like the ones around port a are true brackish and easily acclimate to a saltwater tank. They look the same... I harvested a bucket full of them from the marshes. They are drawn to dead fish.

If you read up on the blue ribbon eel you will see they are much harder to feed than the moray eels. It's not as simple as dumping a chunk of meat in the tank. I have done my research and I appreciate the input guys, but I am in need of someone who can help with my mission not an alternative solution. I would just drive down there normally but I relocated to el Paso last year lol. If anyone can catch me some let me know, thanks!

Polly's in Universal City often carries the saltwater grash shrimp you are talking about. (I fully understand the difference between the two.) Call them and check on stock. They seem to have better luck seasonally in getting them from their supplier and now is the season to get them.

couple of LFS carry peps regularly, try elegant reef and Texas tropical. it's going to be an expensive meal but it fits the criteria your looking for

as I stated above i'm in El Paso now. I called Pollys to see if they could hook me up with their supplier. It's just frustrating being this far from the ocean! I used to just take a weekend and go to the beach with a dip net...

Petsmart only sells mollies over 1 1/2" but I still got a few to breed out in the 55g in my garage. I used to have about 30-50 breeding in my 240g took a few months to get them rolling.
I called Pollys to get a hold of there supplier so hopefully that will pan out. Am I seriously the only guy who ever goes to the coast to collect livestock ?
