Just a friendly reminder

To stay on top of filter changes. I have been fighting a massive cyano outbreak in all of my tanks. I suspected that my TDS was up, but without a meter I wasn't sure. Well, brown brought me a box o goodies today, and my new meter confirmed my suspicions. Changed out the filters and resin, and I'm back to 0 TDS. Ro/di tank and both mixing stations have been cleaned with acid and are now ready for action. Unfortunately I had to dump 60g of rodi and 80g of mixed saltwater down the drain. But now I can get a hand on this blasted cyano issue.

Lesson learned, monitor TDS and change those filters!

Which filter are you referring to? Membrane or DI? Or both? What was your TDS reading before the filter change?

All of the above. I'm almost embarrassed to admit, my TDS was over 100, WAY over 100. :blushing:

My tanks were trying to tell me (cyano), I just wasn't listening.
