My tank reads 8.0 constantly. I know that's not bad, but just looking to hit 8.2.
Been trying every which way.
My tap is 8.4(but don't wanna use tap), the local distilled is under 8, and the lfs water is at 8.0.
Is 8.0 really that bad?

Question-Are you having issues at 8.0? How does your coral look, and how does your tank look? Honestly, if everything looks good, leave it alone. I can't tell you the last time I even checked ph. My corals look great, my tank is happy.

If my tank wasn't happy, then I might worry. According my acjr, my ph is currently 7.84.

My ph floats from 7.9 at night to 8.3 at its highest point in the day. My corals grow like weeds and everything is all good. Just giving an example...

I thought consistent levels are key..... Better to have it stay at 8.0 than to fluctuate... I wish mine was stable but I haven't had any issues..mine drops to 7.6 some nights.. And up to 8.1 during the day..

I agree with Sherita because my ph is at 7.85 and corals are happy as ever. I too have been trying different buffers to raise ph but ultimately I'm satisfied with where my ph is and corals seem to agree. I wouldn't worry so much about the ph, just keep up with basic tank maintenance like water changes and providing the corals plenty of water movement and should be fine.
