When I look at my tank, I see the frags that need to be glued, the algae that needs to be wiped, the overgrown macro, etc.

Today, my brother brought over his girlfriend’s children for the first time. The four year old boy, when he saw my tank, said “Wow it’s so purple!” He stared wide-eyed for a bit, then said “Hey, there’s fish too!”

It made my day. :)

People love the nemo fish and the tang, but this kid liked the rock. Awesome.

Then, he saw my parrots, and cats, and dogs, and I think he got a little overwhelmed. Until I handed him an Xbox with Lego Indiana Jones, then he was fine.

Haha, I think I know what you mean. That's one of my favorite things about sharing my tank is to hear what people notice or comment or inquire about. And it's pretty much different with every single viewer. Poor Mike, when someone visits the tank and I'm not there, I demand that he try to recall every single thing that they noticed or commented on. The worst was the year we were in the tank tour and I was out of town!

You know, as they say, you are your own worst critic! I always worry about how messy/dirty/unorganized my tank looks at times when people come over, however, they are almost always amazed and think it looks clean and organized!
