I was just curious as to why maybe this xenia is turning colors and looking deflated.
It started out great and eventually split off and attached to the live rock around it. It was looking great but now the stuff higher up on the rock is looking bad, it is still alive I touched it with a wooden skewer and it was still moving. Just wonder what it is doing. Here is a picture of the good and the bad. It's from the same Stalk.15166

My pink pulsing xenia just turned and started deflating on me. About the sametime my True Blue Xenia started thriving. They were at the same level in my tank. So no idea. They tend to like dirty tanks. Not super dirty but super clean tanks are not good for them.

I've had them thrive and die. One of those creatures that either do well or they don't. I've got pulsing Xenia in the tank now that seem to be doing well, but I don't expect it to last.

That's interesting my tank nitrates are as good as they have ever been and the water quailty is great! I'm glad to hear that these xenias just do that from time to time. A few of them seem to be inflating again so it looks like they might come back! I thought it might be because of the other softies I have in the tank. I have two clowns a ckarkii and a tomato they both have hosted a plate coral together it's funny to watch them. But I thought that they may have taken something from the plate and gave it to the xenias that caused them to wither but i guess maybe not... any way thanks Ya'll...:bigsmile:

There was a time in the big tank when we had a ton of Xenia, but eventually they melted away. It can be hard to say sometimes.
