To free up space on my PC4s can I run my 2 mp40s on the same outlet?

If I add another PC4, behind my tank is only one outlet that's already plugged with my 2 other pc4s, how do I add the 3rd? Is it safe to add a power strip then plugg in the pc4s to it... Or one of those temporary GFCI boxes?

If I would have known what i know now, I would have added another outlet behind my tank before it was setup...

I think you can run the 2 mp40's on the same outlet so long as the total amperage does not exceed that of the outlet you chose. Some of the outlets have a higher rating than the others and I'm not sure what amperage the mp40's pull. So with a little math it should be pretty easy to figure it out... I am running 2 koralias one 1 outlet as well as 2 sets of fans on another with no issues.

Cool, guess I should look more into it... But I was just curious as I watch this spurs game.

cool, I just need a couple of more slots, I should be good but might have to spring for another PC4 if I start adding anything else...

Unless you are connecting a bunch of 250w to 400w lights to a PC4, a very large return pump/skimmer pump, or a 300 watt heater, nothing else really draws a lot of power. Power heads are minimal, small pumps for reactors, and lights for a sump are a small draw.

Thank you sir, I think I have a few things I can pair up. I will have 2 spots open when I take down my lights and a 3rd when I pair up my vortechs. If I get LEDs, I should be able to put them on one outlet and leaving 2 free. I need to get my ATO online.....

if you ATO uses a little pump (or 50 ml doser from BRS), I would put it on plug #1 or #4. I can elaborate on the electronics reasoning why if you want....or just look around and you will see why. The lower power pumps/motors sometimes will not completely turn off when used on plugs #2 and #3, but #1 and #4 are mechancically switched off. I use a BRS 50ml doser for my ATO and had this issue.

USE 1 OR 4 OMG....

My ATO pump almost overflowed my sump before I figured this out.

yep, it can really screw you especially if you use kalkwasser in your ATO resevoir....send ph through the roof.
