So I was at Petco today bored and looking around at all the half starved tangs with obvious ick when I was almost at the end of the salt water section when WOHA there was a healthy looking 2.5-3" Achilles tang. I just couldnt believe it. What is Petco doing with an Achilles tang ? So then I started to look at prices tags for it and the only 2 on the tank were for an Anthias and a Goby....HMMM ok then..... So as a staff member was walking by I decided to play stupid and asked him " what kind of fish is this and how much" ? He stopped and said I think its a goby $20...... I decided to play stupid even more stupid .... Then he said oh wait no the goby died...... its an Anthias $30. He then procedded to tell me about Anthias fish and I said .... so its $30 then huh? and he said yes.... I said ok Ill take it !!!! and in the bag he went !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here is my $200 Achilles tang for $30 !!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Petco for not properly educating your staff !!!!!!

I got a captive bred misbar maroon clown at Petco for $16. They accidentally got another store's boxes and had way too many fish, so I assumed the price was to unload them.

I'm going to Petco to browse more often.... Maybe I can find a black tang :)

Yup, their higher end stock lingers way too long and they decline pretty fast. If it stayed there at Petco it would surely be covered in ich within a couple of days and dead within 2 weeks. FACT

I'm pretty sure the Achilles bit the dust shortly after the purchase. It's so hard to keep them ich free. Especially from PETCO!
