Tickets are $20/person for web members, guests.

Charter members can buy tickets at discounted $15/person rate for themselves,
a guest, and for the children in their immediate family.


Children 2 and under are free.




The cost includes:


Dinner in the African banquet room that overlooks the hippo feeding area and African cichlid pond
Guided tour of the zoo aquarium from the "zookeeper" of that area
Private after-hours zoo access for our group
Scavenger hunt for your family or group of friends with special prize!


Menu is:


Grilled chicken breast and sausage
potato salad
baked beans
sliced bread
assorted mini-cakes
soft drinks and bottled waters

Please post in this thread when you paypal in your admission fees and for how many. Also, if anyone is interested in going in earlier in the day you can pay an additional $5 for all day access (or use your zoo membership if you have one).

Im going to have to sit this one out because Im supposed to BBQ for the fight but we had a blast at this last time. Being able to have the whole zoo to yourself is awesome. Plus seeing the zoo at night was pretty cool.

We were there the saturday before easter with the wife, we had a good time. We showed up around 8am there was no line and all the animals were active and out.

Holy cow... this is this Saturday. Looking forward to it, as we have always been out of town the last couple years and missed it. I know MAAST needs to give the zoo a head count soon, so please post in the thread and paypal your entrance fee ASAP. I think the behind the scenes look at the aquarium stuff sounds cool and this goes to support our local zoo, which is also nice. Hope to see everyone there.

Unfortunately, we have to charge the same ($20/ person) for the kids - although the good news is that your 2 year old will be free. This is because the zoo charges us the same for entrance and dinner. MAAST is shouldering a chunk ofthe cost, even for web members. Hope to see you guys there!

What a great night!! First time to the zoo at dusk. Really incredible! The kiddos had a great time as well as the big kiddo (me)! Thanks again for hosting this event!

Mike and Kristy tried to throw a curve ball on the scavenger hunt.. Find the gorilla exhibit and take a photo acting like a gorilla in front of it.. No gorilla exhibit for 15 years at our zoo. This was the only picture of a gorilla on the grounds. They said to get creative!!
And the winner is…. I think it was the gorilla photo that put me over the top! MACNA, here I come!!

Thanks to the nice turnout last night. For those of you who missed it, here's a quick recap:

- We had access to the zoo at the perfect time of day. It was starting to cool down and the animals were getting a little more active than I've seen in a while. I know my wife, kid, and I felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.
- Then we had a delicious dinner made up of smoked chicken and sausage, beans, potato salad, chips, and drinks (well worth the $15 or $20 admission price alone).
- Kristy announced a zoo themed scavanger hunt and the grand prize was a 3 day pass to Macna!!! The players were to take pictures of the various items with the cell cameras.
- We then got to go on a guided private behind the scenes tour of the fish exhibit.
- After that the scavenger hunt began and we broke up into our own little groups and had the run of the zoo. It was very cool to be able to hear all the different animal calls (especially the lion roaring).
- Around 9pm we all gathered back at the Africa Live restaurant, where is was announced that Scutterborn found all the most scavenger itemsof the scavenger items (albeit with some creativity as evidenced by his pics above).
