12"x15" Giant Derasa Clam

Well, the TOTY for 2011 has had some massive problems starting with finding an eroded penny in my sump and things going down from there with a hectic work schedule. I'm going to take it down and sell some things off. My clam is fine except a light area on mantle where it was shaded by a big table coral. I've broken off the dead coral head and am getting the mantle used to more light. This is a HUGE purpleish brown with white stripe clam. It was about 4" when I bought it. This would make a sweet center piece in a big tank at home, office, restaurant etc. Asking $500. Will not ship. Todd

Waiting for the water to clear, I just moved some things in the tank so we can get a full shot.

I broke the coral off shading it last Thursday late in the day and the shaded part is already coloring up well with the clam's patter starting to show, still very light in that area though but healthy.

There isn't any Yellow on it, that is my Powder Blue Tang going behind the mantel on the left side.

$350 last chance and it's going to a LFS to sit for some high roller setting up a new tank. This is much better looking live and huge but won't get so big it will out grow a big tank. Derasa's max out about 24" tops.

Hmm. Maybe towards a trade of my 215, and I'll put the clam in my 8g nano! JK - for a bump. Very cool clam.

She's sold pending payment/pick up. Bring a medium cooler or something Lucky, I don't think it will fit in a 5 gallon bucket.
