Ok, So I came across a 56 Gallon tank on Craigslist. It measures 30x18x24. I'll post some pictures as I clean it up. Needless to say it needs a little TLC. But I love the dimensions and you cant beat 20 bucks. I'm going to strip and reseal the seams. Polish the glass. Get it looking all nice and pertay. I've always had an overwhelming number of softies in my tanks. And I still enjoy my softies. But having been playing with SPS corals as of late. And I'm in love. As this is my first time go around with a hard coral specific tank. This will serve as a learning point. And a reference when everything goes horribly wrong. But I am already building a stand and canopy for the tank and its coming along quite well. I'm looking forward to this build. It will be a slow build. But I am doing it right. And at any point during the build you guys see a WTF moment. Please don't hesitate to speak up. Not new to SW by any means. But new to the hard coral scene for sure. Let me know what you think.

Dude, You're the one that got me hooked on them. That red planet I snagged from you the other day sealed the deal. I want to give it a suitable home to live in. And give it some colorful friends to live with ha ha.

Stand is looking good, I wish I had a bit of knowledge to build my own... I would have definitely built mine bigger for electronics and wires...
Good luck!

Yeah, I'm trying to leave it a spacious as possible. The panels on the front and sides will be completely removable to make it easier to run wires and mess with the sump area. Plus i'm doing two seperate cross members on the back for mounting power strips and some BRS reactors to. At least it's making sense in my head right now.....

Got the sides on the stand. Front and sides are removable. About to give it a nice stain.

So i had a minor set back on the tank. Well a big one actually. While the tank was being drilled for an over flow and return lines... It cracked. A nice big ole crack right down the center. Such is my luck. But because I have awesome friends and this happened at just the right time. I came upon a 120 galllon with a 4x2x2 foot print which I love the deep tanks. It is already drilled and has overflows. I just have to do a little manual labor for the trade. And it has a couple blemishes that are going to need fixing before I start playing with it too much. So now that I am playing with a 120. That steps me up to the next level of large tanks. So if the mods could move this over to the large tank forum section that would be appreciated. I will post pictures of both the broken 56 and the new 120 later when I get a chance.

you could always take it to forever pets and have it fixed and sell it since you put a lot of time into stand

I was thinking about replacing the pane. Any idea how much that might cost? Its a 30 by 24 pane. I already have a 125. So it is pretty much the same. Just different footprint.

The first two are the 56 being drilled and the and the crack. The second two are the new tank. It has an impact fracture from a pellet gun or something. Doesnt go all the way through. I can get the glass filler and get rid of that. Anyone have experience with that?

Wow nice tank, and you say all you have to do is a "little manual labor".
