Bubble Tip reproduction

I took these pics last night after my lights went off and I noticed this all around the bottom of my bubble tip. Has anybody ever seen this. I was thinking reproduction but can't find anything other then that they asexually reproduce

looks like sponge to me

It's hard to see in the pics but it looks more like a gel up close. I have a few sponges in their attached to the live rock. It may be but it's all over the base.
