So I finally bought a new MP40wES fro my 90 gallon. It looks so much nicer then having all of the other pumps in the tank. Im having a little bit of trouble making a good wave using the short pluse mode. I got some what of a wave but not like I have see on youtube or on other members tanks. Can anyone who has an MP40 help me with this? Im not sure if I have the pump to high or to close to the front of the glass. Maybe I just need to play around with it a little more. I dont have a picture of where I placed it but its a little above half way of the tank and a little to the left of center. I tried to make a diagram below to show sort of where it is placed.

Man, you're the man! I'm waiting to be able to get my set of MP40s... and a MP10.

Depending on the tank its a little tricky setting the right pulse to get a wave. My MP40 rocks though! I have it set on reefcrest though. I feel like I'm going to break it when I have it on pulse.

I have both the MP40ES and a 90 gallon tank as well. I centered the wet half on the left hand side of my tank. The reason for this is the ES models have what is called the Nutrient Transport Mode, which stirs up any detritus into the overflow and out of the aquarium.

Can you post a picture of what your talking about? My overflow is on the left side when your looking at the tank so thats why I put the MP40 on the right side of the tank.

Do you get a wave with it on the reefcrest mode?

Ya. So far i love the way it works and the clean look inside the tank. Even with such a small wave (for now) everything is moving nicely. I have my GBTA on the other side of the tank from the MP40. It moves a little but thats why I want to figure out a bigger wave.

I have a question. How do I switch between different modes and still keep the settings I set for each mode. For example, when I set the short pulse mode to where I like it and then switch to a different mode then go back to the short pulse mode the settings for the short pulse mode are not set right. I have to set it back again which is a pain in the a**. How do I fix this problem?

Use the "Auto Tune" mode in Short Pulse to help get a good wave, it will transfer to NTM as well.
You have to save your settings each time. Check out the FULL user manual, not the little quick start guide they send with it.

Ya I saved the short pule mode and have a good wave going. But when I switch to a different mode and then back to the short pulse mode I have to set it again. Is this how it's supposed to work?

Also is there such a thing as having the water moving to fast in the tank? I have a good wave going and things are moving a lot.
