I'm just looking for some advice on what kind of MH setup would be needed for a 36" sps tank 16" tall. 2-150w,1-250w,2-250w, 1-400w? I have no idea what would be needed for good coverage and par, I'm sure alot of it has to do with what reflectors would be used, but any advice would be great

2 150w at the most. If you can still find a Current Sunpod those work perfect. One of anything is not enough because of the width.

Something with a lot of LED's.

When I bought my big tank, it had 2 400w in lumenbrite reflectors. It easily covered the 6' tank. It had a few actinic t5's in between them.

2- 150w. If i could find 3 of those coralfie fixtures, change out the ballest, i would go back to mh. I had the best colors with 2-20k-150's over a shallow 90g

my old 65g which is same footprint but deeper I ran a 250w pendent and it was perfect. now that 25 more gallons than you are running and I had heat probs and had to put a clip on fan blowing over the pendent to keep temps at 78 or it would hit 82-83

I think you'd do fine with one pendant, 250 or so. I have only one 400W over my tank AND I have a foot print that's 48" by 36". I'd like to quote Karin for anyone who thinks that's not enough... "I welcome you over to scrape the coraline growth off the class" :)Todd talked me into just one, and I use the lumenarc reflector. About 15" over the top of the tank.
