1 is fine for the RO water and alert reminder for u to hve some replaceable filters handy.....
I hve a dual inline TDS meter hooked up with in RO and out DI... RO reads about 3 and DI reads 0....my tap water probaly reads about 270 but who cares.. As long as u filter water reads around 1 or 2 u should be fine

I took my DI out. So expensive to replace. I run 15 out of my RO. Minerals are better than no minerals? Im not sure. I hope its ok to drink the RO not the RO/DI.

rodi is ok up to 19 tds with no problems but your tap is 3 i would check it with another meter to be safe

I agree, a tap water reading of 3 is way off, unless it is some other unit than ppm? Most tap water runs in a range from 250 to as high as 600ppm (here in Corpus!).

My tap read 279 when I got my RODI unit in. However, I didn't calibrate the meter yet so that could be off.

what minerals are they? the salt manufactures parameters are based on mixing with RO/DI so everything properly mixes and you get right ratios.

I just picked up the unit from Louis, and it came with calibration fluid. I will check again, I was just being lazy yesterday....

still getting a 01 reading from my unit, and 03 from the tap. this is a PPt unit.

If you are getting a 01 out of your unit that is equivalent to a 100ppm reading which is quit high. Whenever you typically hear people referring to tds its in ppm and ideally you want it under 10ppm. Do you know how old the filters and membrane are?

No i dont, I bought the unit used and was guaranteed the filters were not that old...... I bought a extra set to have on hand and this will be my last water change with the old ones...

Will post my new reading with new filters soon.

Okay so read the instructions over again. The reading on the old filter was 01 which is 100 @ppt and must be multiplied by 1000 to get the ppm. So that would be 100,000 but that a decimal point will be between the 2nd and 3rd digits. So that would be a reading of 10ppm.... Is this correct? Very confusing.....

Eitherway I replaced the filters and got a reading of 00.....

That seems way to complicated, I have an dual inline TDS meter setup on my RO unit.

yes it is, even the instructions are a little weird.

I would go even more bald scratching my head with that set of instructions. I agree with Alton, I would invest in an inline meter for your set up. I have one on my newly acquired RO/DI and it is easy to just read the numbers. I would keep the one you have now for double checking or emergency use.

do you have to calibrate those in line meters? i might just get one but now that my water is at 0, I am happy and for now the confusion ends.
