just curious aboutmy sump. do i leave the light on 24-7 for cheaato to grow and absorb nitrates. or do i alternate lights on opposite schedule of display lights. thanks.

Most run an opposite cycle, myself included.

Running a fuge with lights opposite your DT also helps to maintain your PH level, which tends to drop when the lights in the DT turn off.

We run ours 24x7. I think either way is fine.

depends what kind of macro you are using
for the caulerpas, the 24/7 schedule is better, because it prevents it from going sexual, chaeto doesn't go sexual, so reverse light cycle is fine to combat ph swings.

Paul..good Q..iv been thinking the same thing these pass few days..seen youtube videos on some sumps an they say 24..but ever 1 I no do 8 at night..as my self..so thanks
