Talk about extreme experiences.

So I went to a certain pet store on Bandera near 410 last night night. I don't even get a hello or an acknowledgement the whole time I'm there. I mean, I'm not expecting a cavalcade of jugglers or a marching band to greet my entrance, but a simple hello or even a head nod would suffice. Then on my way out, I'm greeted with the pungent skunky aroma or cannabis. Two employees are lighting up right in front of the store. Come on guys, seriously? You can't take that to the back of the store? Do you really have to do that right next to the main entrance?

Then today, I stop by Elegant Reef. I'm greeted by Louis and his staff as I walk in the store. There's a variety of different foods, dry goods, and livestock. The tanks are clean, the fish are healthy, and the corals/inverts are all top notch. I find myself more impressed each time I stop by the studio.

I find myself scratching my head, and wondering why I wasted my time each time I stop by that other place. Not trying to bad mouth anyone, but I'm just telling it like it is.

i dont really know how/ why but all i know is she walked out with a trashcan filled with water (as i walked in ) she walked back in as i did my quick round threw the fish/ coral section i didn't think anything of it walked out side and bamm my car is soaking wet. The part that got me was i dont wash the car often but i had just had it washed and hand dried than it was soaking wet 5 mins later

I don't mind picking up supplies there as it's close to work, but I've never really been impressed with the livestock.

If this is the store I am thinking of, I was nowhere near impressed when I was there either. Actually, I was horrified.......fish in their death throes, ick everywhere, and sick/dead/dying corals. I watched someone bring in livestock from their tank......no acclimation, just dumped the fish and the water right into the system. I left, right then. I felt so sorry for the big hippo tang that was getting stung over and over again by the lionfish in the same tank. The hippo was in the corner, dying and the lion had him cornered. It was awful.

Took me 30 minutes to get someone to check me out at the counter. All I wanted was a scraper blade replacement! I wouldn't even say it's gone downhill, as it's already been down the hill, a few times. Now it's just trolling the bottom.
