I just setup my my jbj pico and I had it cycle for about 6 weeks and had my cuc for about 2 everything doin fine doin 1 gallon wc a week and all tests good. Just running a little skimmer and thats all or now looking to add some algea prob macro. But there is a little film on the top of my water does any one know what it is an how to get to of it thanx.

It is just organic solids. You can take a cup and skim the top or rig up a surface skimmer for your protein skimmer

Oh ok I'll look into that I was thinking about running my jbj only on a skimmer and some various algea is that a good idea?

I misunderstood. I thought you already have a skimmer. Both are good choices but I wouldn't worry about a skimmer or macro unless you plan to keep non-photosynthetics and feed heavily. Weekly 30% WC's should be plenty of nutrient removal.

I do have skimmer lol sorry for confusion that's all I'm running right now. Don't plan on feeding heavily so guess I'll be fine for now thanx have to look into surface skimmer.

CPR makes one for their bakpak skimmer. Just to give you an idea...

What type of skimmer do you have? Pump or air stone driven?

Cool il look that up. The only thing I have is a Aq modded into a fuge but don't have anything Bak there only little skimmer
