Just wanted to share my biocube pics with everyone :). Thanks Scream311 for the kenya trees and the hairy mushroom coral! I just have a clown and a diamond goby as far as fish go. I also have one frogspawn which seems to be getting big real fast. There is roughly 36 lbs of LR and 40 lbs. of live sand. Sump has been modded to a mechanical filtration with a fugium with chaeto and a 10 watt halogen grow light. I am using the airstone driven biocube protein skimmer for skimming out waste. I will update pics as my livestock grows.

Your welcome James. Nice Coraline Growth bud. And I see those Kenyas have opened up nicely

Yeah man, the corals seem to really love the cube lol. I can't find one of the kenyas... It floated off somewhere but I'm sure they will all grow really fast. Doing water change today so they should be really happy tomorrow lol. Yeah.. the coralline is growing ultra fast. Lets me know the parameters are great.

I initially set up my 29BC similar to yours but I had little success in reducing algae blooms. I changecd up a bit and took out all the stuff in the middle chamber and got a CPR skimmer designed to fit in it and it works awsome!!! now I just need to get my sump/refugium built for the stand and I can get the fuge back up and running :-) (already have the tank drilled for it :-)) Awsome tank, love the pics.
one question, how has your tank temp been? I have been keeping the lids open on the hood to keep it under 80 degrees, but I am evaporating water like mad doing it.

Algae blooms really haven't been an issue for me so its working out for me pretty good. My temps are sitting around 80-82 degrees. My livestock don't seem to be showing any signs of stress over it. Any higher temps I use a bag of ice to bring it down. I don't think I'll ever put together a seperate sump. If I go that route, I'll just upgrade to a 50 gallon next. Thanks for the nice comment though.

Okay, so I've added some zoas and a mandarin dragonette although she is hiding she's in there! I also bumped my frogspawn up to the top of the tank and it is loving it! I also rearranged the rock to better suit my corals. My next coral will be a Galaxea whenever Louis gets it in lol. Let me know what you think!

What a great start you have on your tank! You'll have it filled in no time.

Thanks for sharing and remember to update.

Thanks Chris! I'm having fun getting this tank set up aesthetically. I will do an LED mod someday in the future but my PCs seem to keep things happy for now. I've even thought about just adding a stunner strip and keeping PCs. I don't now what I'll do yet as I haven't heard a lot of success stories with LEDs yet.

Be careful with that galaxy... those stingers pack quite a punch! I keep my frag on it's own little island, and it still reaches out about 4 inches. (The whole frag itself is only 2!) They also like a lot of light, so find a spot up high where it won't mess with your frogspawn

Well... I decided on no galaxea due to the fact that I have no room to place it without harming others.

Okay, so I modded out the PC bulbs on my Biocube 29 and installed 2 Ecoxotic modules to the hood. 1 of the modules is an older Panorama LED white/blue that I got off Louis from his coral tank and the other is a Panorama Pro magenta/blue. I think I will add another white/blue module to increase some of the brightness but my corals really seem to like these lights just as much if not more than my PC bulbs. I do have the old ballasts, bulbs, and wiring available in the for sale section. Let me know what you think! Thanks Elegant Reef for the nice lights!

Nah man it was super easy! Took me about 30 mins. just because I wanted it to look nice. I had to remove the PC sockets and the wires. I left my moonlights in place as I do like the Biocube moonlights. All I did was use sheet metal screws and they tapped right into the heat shield/reflector with ease. I LOVE these lights!

Yeah he has them in stock. I didn't get a chance to shoot a video because I was at the Comal River tubing and got home too late. I'll do a video tomorrow for ya! I definitely need one more white/blue module. Love the lights though! Definitely recommend them.

@350GT Hey man, here is a video with just the magenta and blue. The video doesn't do much justice to the colors as much but helps you get the idea. All vids are 720P quality. Hope this helps in making a choice in LEDs.

I would think with the 110 you could just order their fixtures and have those over the top of your tank. I would.

I would too but I am happy with my aquatic life hid fixture.... I love LEDs and will eventually transfer over completely like I did in my aqua pod..

I've seen some tanks with the cannons....man they look sharp...but boy are they pricey! I'm looking for one last 12 watt white and blue panorama...so if you decide to switch over to the pro and want to sell the 12 gimme a holler. Can't seem to find a used 12 watter, all the stores have the 19's already.

How did ya know I had the older light for my white/blue leds? I just want to add a white/blue pro to the system. Though it would be nice for all lights to be the same type to match and all.

How much would you offer for the module? I just got it off Louis for 75 with the transformer. When I get another panorama pro blue/white led I will let you know if you are still interested in the module.

Thanks... I've put a good bit of time into it. Sad thing is I may need to sell off my livestock because I have job interview in Houston and may be relocating..... I don't think I can keep things alive especially since I may be renting and have to move again.....

Dang...on the one hand congradulations on the job...then again I know what it's like to have to turn around and mess with something that's working really well. Good luck though I'm sure it will work out aight though. Plus I'm still interested in the light so you got my number.

Here's an up-to-date video of my BC29. I added a beautiful RBTA to the tank yesterday of which I purchased at Elegant Reef's grand opening and it is doing very well so far. It found a spot on the high part of my LR and just opened up nice. It did sting one of my kenya's lol but I don't mind since they take a lot of beatings and keep growing. I did move corals around to accommodate this beautiful deadly creature. :) Oh and Johnny, when I get that 12k man, the 12 watter is all yours.

Oh I forgot to mention that I FINALLY found that noisy clickity pistol shrimp hiding in the very back of my rock work. He came out when I was phyto feeding my scallop. Hides every time I would move and then would come back out lol. I'm glad it wasn't a mantis at least.

I'm using the standard BC pump with a hydor flo reflector which rotates to change the current. I also am using the oceanic BC wave maker on the opposite end of the tank.

Thanks y'all! I love messing with my nano tank. My diamond goby is the reason for the nice clean sandbed lol. I'm moving it to Houston with me next weekend. My wife has been keeping everyone fed and I just change the water when I come into town on the weekends. I definitely want out in Houston with me as I like to be able to appreciate all the effort I put into this tank :).

Well.... Its time to break down my tank and take it with me to Houston. I hope all survives the 3 hour trip. I am using minnow bucket bubblers to keep everything oxygenated. I have all rock, fish, and corals in 3 - 5 gallon buckets. I damaged my mushroom coral but I think it will be ok. Anyhow. I will post when all is set up again.

I need to know...you are running a total of how many Panorama Pros now, are you running them on a dimmer or a controller or are they straight on/off, and are you growing any SPS of any kind in there? If so, how are they doing?

I am only running 2 panorama pro strips (1 magenta/blue & 1 blue/white). I have each one on its own timer. The magenta blue strip acts as my dusk/dawn light and the other strip acts as my daylight light. Now I do plan on adding more lights but not right now. No sps are in my tank though I feel confident to grow them in my tank. I only have softies and a couple of lps corals and they all are doing great with nice growth. Hope that helps!
