The question is "Would You Buy a Fish" to try and save it from perishing? Example; If you saw a fish at a LFS and it was there for a week and refused food which usually means "Do Not Buy". But you felt like if you do not step in it will die if it stays in the store, would you gamble $80?

Quick and easy answer? NO,, coral or inverts.. maybe.. I have done it before. there are many pros and cons, whys and why nots.. but if you want to do that.. save your money and go gambling..it will be more fun.....Here is my reasoning.. if it is a reputable LFS then they are probably already doing everything they can to get it to eat.. and they have more resources than we do at home.. if it is a not so reputable place and you buy it.. you are just adding to their bottom line and encouraging more irresponsible purchases on their part... not everyone has to agree with me but thats my take!

as harsh as it sounds, i agree with mike.
although, i must admit that i have been in your situation a couple of times and not followed my own advice. good intentions have not had positive results for me so far.

I agree as well. I have purchased an impulse buy in the same situation. It did not work well. Can't take all of them home.
I thought my tank would be better - more room - more inhabitants to live with.

I think that's the most sensible answer.
If for some reason you are already in love with that fish and it makes you happy to give it a try though I wouldn't hold it against you :)

The funny thing Mike I just came back from Kimber on Monday. As bad as I want the fish I will agree with everyone and not get it. Well at least I won't have to hide it from the wife for a month.
