I'm looking on getting an overflow box for my 10 gallon system. Is there any that you guys would recommend that run quietly and offer a good amount of flow?

The Eshopps nano overflow looked pretty good, has anyone bought this?

have you thought about drilling the tank? glass-holes.com has nano kits

I'd go the drilling route as well. How big will your fugue/sump be?

Or as an alternate idea, do a hang on back fuge instead.

Sump will be 10 gallons. I thought 10 gallons could not be drilled because they were tempered glass?

What size HOB refuge should I go for? I would much rather go this route

Actually, the nano overflow on glass holes looks great. Is there a way I can split the return line into two lines? Also what type of tubing should I use to connect to the elbow? PVC or flex tubing? Also what type of tubing for the return line? And should I drill the tank for the return line? Or just hang it on the side? The second method sounds a bit fragile. I just don't want to accidentally hit the return and have it spilling all over my floor.

I have drilled a few 10g tanks without any issues. I have drilled the bottom and sides.

When I used a glass-holes overflow I just used tubing on the back side or the pvc elbow, I also used one of their return kits and drilled the tank for another bulkhead.

Is there anything special you did? Or was it just the standard instructions for drilling any tanks? Also does the size of the return kit have to match the size of the bulkhead for the overflow?

for a small tank I used the nano overflow box w/ teeth and the 1/2" return kit.

do you have any pics of what the return kit looked like assembled?

Also does the hole for the return pipe have to be level, above, or below the drain hole?

Sorry I dont have any pics. The tank is no longer setup. It don't really matter too much on the height of the return bulkhead, but the return output does need to be close to the top of the tank. If not when the return pump is shut off the tank will siphon down and could flood the sump.

Do you still have the tank?

No, it was a biocube14 with the back filtration removed.

Oh ok, the kit you used was the "nano overflow con dientes"?

Was it pretty silent? Also which piece from the return kit is the actual nozzle?

Yes the overflow job was pretty quiet, it made less noise then I thought it would. The return kit uses standard lockline and a lockline nozzle

So you would recommend me to purchase it? What size return pump did you use?

Depends on the setup you want. The nano overflow box is only rated for 300gph, so it will work fine with anything at that flow or below.
