Post a pic of a tank you no longer have, but think about it from time to time.
My 39g Cube in wall, the last phase Late 2008 was a Anemone and Clam only tank. I look at these pics and wonder why I took it down.

Sure i'll play along with my tank from KC. 135 gallon. Moved down here so I had to sell house and tank. :) I sectioned off a corner of my TV room downstairs and built the stand, put up the drywall, painted it, and did up the trim, and made that big ugly peice of rock on the right hand side of the tank with multiple tunnels for fish and such to hide in and swim around. :)
2 sides viewable AND SORRY for all the photos.... well not really you guys started this sad road. :(

Thanks Ray,
Yeah we lived in KC a couple of times. My wife and I were stationed @ Whiteman, then she got out and got a job in Overland Park, so we purchased a house in Blue Springs. Then we ended up selling that one and purchasing a new home (where the fish tank was at) in Northern KC area in between Kearney (where her best friend still lives) and Liberty. We loved KC very much, but YEAH, I am feeling your sentiments. They can have that winter. LOL....I still hop onto their local reef club site as well to see how folks are doing.
And nice inwall.

Mike's plywood tank was an inspiration to MANY. The really unfortunate thing is that he tore it down to "improve" it, and then kept having tank problems with his new tanks.
We (MAAST) lost a LOT of great tanks in a very short period of time.

Being honest, several of these came down in part because of what was going on at MAAST at the time. When you become alienated from your friends that you have a common interest with, you tend to lose interest.
Mine was a combination of things: The above, a bryopsis outbreak, and the ongoing cost. My wife says I put $15K into that tank. I'd bet I put $2K into trying to get rid of bryopsis. When I finally decided to tear it down to get rid of the bryopsis, I lost all of my SPS - and that quickly became the end.

for me, it was a single event. while driving to the coast on a family trip, i spent most of the drive talking to tank owners in Corpus Christi about coming to visit that weekend. As i hung up the phone on the last phone call I had the sudden realization that I was neglecting my family for a fish tank. I posted the tank for sale from my inlaws' house in CC and took my first break from having a tank in about 15 years. even tho the time away was only about 6 months, it was enough time to reprogram myself and my priorities :)

With me Im a person who likes to change things. Rather its the re-arranging furniture in the house, starting a new hobby or changing a aquarium. My wife is the exact opposite, I stress her out sometimes with my changing everything disorder.
Although im not as bad as changing aquariums as some other maastards (i wont name any names ;) ) ive had my fair share. 8 saltwater aquarium within the last 7 years that I can think of (not counting freshwater tanks :) ). Really not that bad when I look at it that way. Im letting the 180g mature before switching over to my next tank which im already thinking about. Going to wait at least another year if I can help it. Want a large 3x3 cube.

That's awesome Ace. Thanks for sharing that. I think we all get caught up in our hobby and not many of us are ever aware of the neglect we might be showing our loved ones or if we are aware we don't do anything about it. It's great that you took action and didn't let something come in the way of what's important in your life.
I find myself trying my hardest at times to just go straight to my boys and wife when I get home instead of my tank and do my best to not even look in the direction of my tanks until everyone is sleeping :) I think I need those blinders that race horses wear....you know the covers that keep their eyes straight ahead. lol
