I'm thinking our new sailfin tang would be happy with some Nori. Can I just get some at at HEB? And, what about the garlic soak?

So far she has been eating Mysys and some veggie pellets.

Any pointers?

You may not need the garlic soak if it eats it no problem. We had to garlic some to get our small hippo to eat it initially. We buy ours from the Asian market.

Ditto on what VP Mike said.

The only time you need garlic IMO is when you are having a difficult time getting your lil dudes to eat. I also use the seaweed from the store, only I get mine from the commisary in the asian section.

Is there any brand of Nori I need too look for, or particular kind? I'll probably get mine from HEB's asian counter/isle, where they have the sushi. Not many asian stores out here in suburbia. :-)

I know NORI can be used to feed the tangs. I have a desjardini and a hippo tang and I stick to the LFS ready made kind. It has garlic already incorporated. It's enriched with vitamin C and there are different kinds of algae to give so they get a variety. I also feed mysis and brine shrimp.

I have heard of them having phosphates, but for most people, you only use part of a sheet a day. We gave 4 good sized tangs, plus a bunch of other fish that eat it and we probably use only half a sheet a day, with 3 tanks. The Picasso trigger in the FOWLR loves it. :)

I can spare a bag of Nori for you that will probably last you 3 months but you have to come pick it up. I'm in Stone Oak. PM me if you are interested.

Picked up some Nori yesterday. I put some on a veggie clip in the tank. The Sailfin tang has not touched it, does not even look at the Nori. Been 12hrs in there and nothing. Should I try garlic, and how?
