View Full Version : Stinky new tank..

So I am setting up a nano for my son and for some reason there is a foul smell.... I mean really foul, stinking up most of the house...

I have yet to turn on a light and the sand hasn't settled and it's been a day...... It cleared up some but not completely... That isn't bothering me as much as the smell though..

What did I do wrong... I still have some water mixing, should I do a water change?

were did it come from ? was it fully cured rock ? take the rock out and smell it .... i would place a bet on that unless something was in the back chambers

I cleaned the whole tank, which wasnt that dirty to begin with....

The rock was from a sponsor on here and was completely dry.

thats your issues right there its in the curing stages now so it smells like your at C.C. but your in SA lol


tell your boy your almost at the beach just get a small hook and go fishing in your tank lol jk jk

took a wiff, it didnt smell that bad...

It smelled like whats in the house but not as bad as you would think...

Ya.... I guess, it will give us time to do a few mods..

Ordered a media basket from IN TANK, and guess I can work on a little LED mod.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to change the water. Maybe all of the water.
