As the title says...

Reefkeeping related of course...

Beginners and advanced aquarists alike...

I'm always interested in chemestry myself and I'm very grateful for the people who have taken their time to help me understand it better. Still far from understanding, but I know what is important to focus on and what isn't a big deal to worry about at this point. Also have quick links to great articles for when I forget what I know :)

Lately I've been reading about keeping / harvesting / salvaging rotifer cultures and now reading about phyto too. I am also interested in learning more about the reef chemistry.... seems like every time I try to read up on this topic I have a little better understanding of the material (sort of like if you are trying to read something in a new language!)

I guess you and me are the only ones wanting to learn something.

Yum food! Too much work for me, but my fishies sure loved the rotis I got from Ace last week, so who knows maybe I will give them a try sometime.

I remember chemistry stuff the most when I am experiencing a problem. I hate that! Why can't I just read the good stuff and then know ever experience the problem.

I want to be friends with Randy Holmes-Farley. lol

He's my go-to source for most of the reef related chemistry stuff although I've also had good discussions with Highland Reefer and Bertoni on RC (can I admit to that here?)

I like to learn and research. It's probably what makes this hobby so interesting to me in the first place.

I think for many of us the chemistry part remains our main goal to master just because there seems to be so many 'layers' of knowledge to it. You don't just read an article and say I get it. Okay. Actually I have done that. I thought I got it and then another scenario comes up and I realize there's more to it and I don't get it after all.

Just one of those things: the more you know the more you know what you don't know...

Why? That is what I am focusing on. I want to know why and how the different variables affect my tank differently. I guess it would be on course with your Chemistry learning though. That is so far the hardest part for me to grasp firmly. I know enough to get in trouble and now I want to now how to get out of trouble and why I am doing it.

WHY is the most important thing of all. I first learned to appreciate the WHY when working with horses and now remind myself to be sure to ask myself when dealing with my kids.
Before I appreciated the importance of WHY I focused so much on symptom and solution and never managed to avoid or fully 'cure' problems.

Some of my biggest regrets I have are about putting a bandaid on something instead of asking why it was happening to begin with. :(

I want to learn more about LED lighting. : )

LED's are a good one, I would love to understand them some more. Im also looking into breeding, which involves the aforementioned phyto and rotifer culture

My main interests at the moment are leds, sps, nps and water chemistry. I have loved led's forever and have got more into them with this hobby. I also really like my sps tank, so I'm always trying to learn more about them and water chemistry. Another new obsession is nps corals, the colors and textures are just awesome.

Animal nutrition has always been an interest of mine when it came to dogs, cats, birds, etc. The reef hobby put a whole new interesting twist on that. I'm always interested in learning more about feeding, live foods, what to feed the food, the nutritional needs of different corals and fish, and ways to meet them in a captive environment.

The WHY is the best question of all. I love those "ah hah" moments when the reason why finally clicks.
