As some of you know, I fried my Odyssea ballasts a couple of days ago (long story, ballasts and water don't mix :P) and I kinda did myself a favor lol... I knew odyssea was bad, but I didnt know it was this bad!! I posted before and after pics so you can see for your self. (I ended up getting one of the old ballasts to work.) To anybody that buys the Odyssea fixtures I recommend upgrading the ballasts asap. One of the Lumatek ballasts I bought is dimmmable and can switch from 150w,175w,250w and 250w HQI. After installing both ballasts I put the dimmable ballast on the 150w setting and it looked like it was equal to 1 "250w" Odyssea ballast. I always wondered why my 20K XM bulbs seemed so much bluer than other XM 20k bulbs. I am having to acclimate my tank to the newly super bright lights now but when I had them on, the corals seemed to respond immediatley to the lights. I can't wait to see what the coials will do.

This first picture is the Odyssea fixture.

it is a drastic change. Its more dramatic in person trust me. The first full odyssea picture was taken with the flash. The camera aided in lighting the tank. No flash used with the new pictures. Yes you were right! lol

I did the same thing for my 48" Odyssea combo unit and upgraded my ballasts to the Coral-Vue. Like you it was night and day difference. I run the Phoenix 14k bulbs.
