Got Aiptasia? Updated AGAIN!

I have a person on Nano-reef that's willing to sell me some Berghia Nudibranchs. He's selling them for $160 shipped overnight for 20 of them. That's a pretty awesome deal. I only need around 10 or so so I'm looking for someone to split the cost and get the other 10.

At one point, Ace's classroom was going to try and breed them. I certainly have plenty of aptasia in my 55 I've been holding for him!

I've thought about breeding them as well. It seems that keeping enough aiptasia growing for them would be a challenge. I guess you could just buy a really nice coral to put into the aiptasia tank if the aiptasia's not doing well. That'll make 'em grow. :P

To anyone interested, I haven't heard back from the guy that had them yet. Also, he bought like 50 of them and that was a couple of weeks ago so I'm not sure how they're doing. I found this site that may be another option:

I'd love to go with Larry (the local guy) but I've talked to him and he said he's not going to have any ready until the end of this year or the first of next year. I'd rather not have to wait this long but would be willing to if you all are.

I got a PM on ARC from the guy that owns berghiadirect.com and I'm currently working out a deal with him. Looks like this may be the best route. $10 each with free shipping on over 40 or more. He said that includes free egg strands and extra Berghia too. Seems like a decent deal. What do you all think? Also, all please post how many you want for those that have no already done so.

I wouldn't think so. I think the only thing you may have to worry about are some wrasses and peppermint shrimp. I haven't heard of any angels eating them.

Trust me, you don't. This is the second time I'm spending over $100 on Nudi's. I've spent a ton of money on chemicals to kill them. I think the first Nudi's got eaten by peppermint shrimp or a wrasse both of which are no longer in my tank. I have high hopes this time around.

Post how it ends up going. Im getting into aiptasia but have heard these are hard to acclimate. Ill prolly just throw some peps at it eventually.

If you do throw some peps in, make sure you don't want Nudi's. They don't mix well from my experience.

On another note, today is the day. I'm going to send a message to our Nudi supplier and find out how we need to pay.

We do have a snag, CLOWNSPUR found out that he has majano's and not aiptasia so he is no longer needing any Nudi's. That leaves us 5-10 short for the group order. If anyone else needs some, nows the time! $10 each with free shipping is a great deal. I paid about $130 for 6 of them several months ago.

Dipan has graciously offered to buy 15 if I did so we should be back on track. I'm thinking we will place the order Friday and have him ship them Monday. I've received PayPal payment from Sherri (thank you!) and will need PayPal payments from Dipan and wesheltonj by Friday.

I sent payment for the Nudi's today. He will send them out Monday for a Tuesday delivery. They're going to be delivered to a FedEx location in New Braunfels. However, I will pick them up in the morning and bring them to work with me. I work from 2PM-11PM Tuesday off of Wurzbach and I10. I will PM you all the exact address but it would most likely be easiest for you all to meet me here and pick them up. He said he was going to give us some extras too! :)

As far as progress goes, I haven't really seen them eat any aiptasia but they've been breeding like crazy and there's an area with 4-5 egg strands. I'm glad they're breeding but I'd be happier if they were eating aiptasia too. :)

UPDATE: After posting the above post last night, I sat and watched the little herd of nudi's crawl around. I've counted 5 egg strands and I'm sure there's more that I can't see. With the way they're breeding, I hope I reincarnate as a Nudibranch. :P

Also, I saw one start eating an aiptasia. I know he was eating it because the aiptasia freaked out, sunk in a shot some stuff out. When I got up today, the Nudi is completely gone. That's the first time I've seen them eat one. I hope they keep doing it.

Mine have not been seen since the day after I put them in...trying to find them and/or keep as eye out....but my aiptasia is laughing at me....lol no egg strands as of yet either...will post if I either find them or see eggs....
