Yeah, it's sad. You work so hard to raise babies and they die in a year. It must be hard to deal with.

Did you get her at a LFS labeled as a "Brown Octopus"? Looks like my old octo. What kind was it a bimaculatus? That shell is a sweet home for it! Did you ever give it toys? I hear baby keys are a good toy for them as well as putting their food in those toy bubbles in the 25c machines. How did you do the enclosure? Did you just put everything in tank and water change frequently? I am always curious to how people setup their octoc enclosures because there are so many ways to do it! What size was it a 20 high? That octo looks very happy! :)

Tell us more!

well, everyone says they're hard to keep.. but i thought it was easy! Just make sure you can octopus proof your tank!

i fed mine small live crabs i got from a bait store, they have TONS for SOO cheap. i left them in a bucket with a bubbler under my tank, id normally leave 2 in the tank so she can hunt them whenever she feels like it.

thanks for the positive feedback on my video [:

i would defiantly set up a tank for one, they're so amazing to watch, full of personality, after a few weeks she would even take crabs out of my hands :D

+i got her for only 38$ 0:

and erik: no it was a 75 gallon, she is a Caribbean reef octo
i just had a glass canopy and closed the back with plastic (i cut spaces for protein skimmer, filter and cords) then i taped the back plastic down with duct tape :D

YES she loved to play with bio balls!! lol
and yeah the shell is great since it gives her COMPLET privacy whenever she wants, (when they feel the can hide somewhere good really fast they'll feel ok about swimming around more) (because they feel they can get away fast) [:
