I haven't posted anything about the tank for a while so I thought I'd share a few pics.

Thanks! The Achilles is one of the more recent additions, along with the Purple tang.

Just as an aside: IMO Achilles get a bad rap as being a really difficult fish but I attribute this to the fact that almost no one goes to the effort of quarantining their fish (despite the overwhelming agreement that it's the proper thing to do). Achilles tangs are easily stressed during shipping (and often in retailers tanks if not given sufficient water flow and cover to hide). This makes one of the most ich prone fish on the planet even more likely to contract and succumb to ich. Unless the fish is quarantined/treated (along with all other fish in your tank), the Achilles is likely to suffer the unfortunate fate all too many do in this hobby. Sure, there are people out there who'll tell you they never had a problem with an Achilles and took no extra precautions but this is by far the exception rather than the rule.

I personally also use a large UV sterilizer on my system which not only helps reduce microalgae growth but will also kill microbes such as Cryptocaryon irritans (ich), should any spring up in the tank.

My lights are dual 250W 14K pendants on a Blueline ballast, although I am going to be switching them out for a couple of 250W pendants which include actinics and moon lights. I'll be going with the 14K Ushio bulbs as all the reports say these are the best HQI bulbs to use as far as looks and PAR when supplementing with actinics.

Is that a blue chromis in the first pic to the right and down from the achilles?
