Picked up one of these because i was tired of jbjs. I was going to go the Tunze osmolator route but looked at the price and it was the same as the brand new elos top off. So far I really like it SIMPLE clean and smart. They seem to also have a very good track record with the top offs they make.

Oh nice! I've really been impressed with the quality I've seen in Elos products. Had I known they have auto top offs I'd probably went with them over Tunze too! Jealous...

Does the Elos come with a two switches or just one? When I looked at them I thought they only came with one. This is why I went with the Tunze (back up float switch if the optical ever fails).

The entirely new OSMOCONTROLLER Digital uses a patent pending sensor with no moving parts as the first measure of the water level in the SUMP. Most other systems will use multiple float switches or sensors to act as back up to the initial float switch, elos does not. We believe the float switch or sensor will always be the weak link as it is usually a moving part and/or in direct contact with the water, most of the time. To provide an adequate fail-safe the OSMOCONTROLLER Digital uses a small microprocessor in combination with our patent pending sensor to control the pump and monitor the top off of your system. In the event of a fault such as an empty reservoir, a damaged pump or kinked tube, the microprocessor will recognize this and a red alarm LED will indicate the problem and stop pumping until the problem is fixed and the controller can be reset. The OSMOCONTROLLER Digital also has a manual top off button that can be used to use the system as a pump for occasional water changes and to fill a container with RO/DI water easily.

Thanks for that info. tunze makes a great top off nothing wrong with it the new model does use magnets rather than brackets on their floats but I find the elos model is fail proof just as much as the tunze just cleaner or more simple in design it is very smart unit
