Anyone had any experience with this 8x54W 48" Fixture? I've been thinking about it for my new tank.. It's very reasonably priced, and active cooled, reflectors, hanging kit / mounting legs, and splashguard :) What I really like about it is that the one set of legs are fixed hinge, and the other set allow you to lift the fixture up as if it were a car hood. Rather nifty :)

Anyone?

never seen this before. just remember to turn off the lights before you flip it up and blind yourself. lol
I am not a fan of legs and like hanging fixtures much better so it's nice that it comes with it.

Ah, course :) or wear sun glasses... The only thing is this is a rental house, so hanging kits are a bit of a bad idea :(

seriously the hanging kits on the high end fixtures take one teeny screw on each side. Nothing you can't easily hide when you move out.

With the hanging fixtures you can also easily adjust it up or down. With legs you are more limited in distance from the water.
(Like I just sunburned some rics and stuff so it's a little higher for now, then gradually will come down :) )

So after a lot of reading, and some back door maths, I'm going to probably go for AI at this rate. At least a 3 module, but possibly a 2 to start. They will def need to be hung, so I'll be working out how to do that shortly ;) Thanks for the feedback folks!
