I am interested in hearing first hand experiences with the following fish:

CHALK BASS

ROYAL GRAMMA

BLUE CHROMIS

Territorial? Aggressive? Ease of Care? Longterm compatibility with others of the same kind?

My Royal Gramma was territorial...I eventually had to get rid of him due to aggression.

I have also had the Blue Chromis damsels (if we are talking about the same Blue Chromis) and it was also aggressive towards my small clownfish pair I had at the time. Territorial. To clarify I'm talking about this Blue Chromis:

yes Rob that's them.
Thanks for your feedback.
You know me: I like slowboat, super chilled out tankmates so the chromis and gramma may not fit in even though their origin is perfect.

Well a lot of online documentation tag these guys as peaceful....but that was not the case for the ones I had. FYI: I had them in my old 120g at different times.

Karin My chalk bass is my favorite fish in my tank.

They are known to be shy but mine has a great personality. It is the 1st fish to hide though if im cleaning the tank. I have had it for a few months and it eats well. Erik was at my place yesterday and asked "what kind of fish is that" Very unique.

This pic was from April, tank is a little different now. You can see him at the top of the pic. Still around the same size and eats like a champ.

How is he with other fish? Aggressive? Territorial? He's beautiful! I did expect them to be more blue/green though -no?

As you can see in the June pic he stay around the same area of the tank all the time. His home is a little cave at the top of the rock work under the blue palys so he does not wonder far.

They do not mess with any fish, keep to them selves at all times. Not a social fish, lol.

They are a light blue with off red strips. Large Big eyes to avoid predators! very cool fish.

Oh and as Rob mentioned Royal Grammas are very territorial fish. I to have had one in the past and had to find it a new home. One of those little fish with a Napoleon Complex.

Thanks Ray!
I have the Diver's Guides to Caribbean Reef Critters and the one to Caribbean Corals but I hadn't bought the one for Caribbean Fishes so this list is great! :)

Your welocme.

Of corse i would cross reference the date on the list to make 100% sure they are carribean but im sure you will do that anyways.
