Dues are $25 for a year long membership which starts from the date of payment. These dues quickly pay for themselves by the discounts given that many local stores honor to MAAST members.


We are trying to make our club better, having more educational meetings, more door prizes, raffle items and guest speakers. We also have the routine maintenance items like website, food for meetings,, membership dues to national marine organizations, and print/publication fee's. Membership dues allow our club to keep afloat and make all of this possible. As always, the website portion of the club remains free but charters due get some perks.


Why collect dues?


Keep MAAST afloat.

Funds club meetings so the host doesn't have to pay for it all out of pocket.

Allows for website improvements / maintanence.

Allows us to bring in "expert" spearkers at meetings

Higher quality raffles, higher quality meetings, higher quality club!

Eligibility to run for a club office or be appointed to a committee.

Eligibility to VOTE!

Discounts at participating LFS's and online vendors

A membership card

A voice to represent Aquarists' interests.

We were just compiling a list of charter benefits!
1. only charter members get to vote on stuff (for example all charter members were able to vote on if we wanted web members to be able to view, reply and post in the photography forum)

2. only charter members get to participate in the Picture of The Month contest

3. only charter members get to view the charter member for sale forum

4. only charter members get to participate in levels 2 and 3 of the frag exchange program

5. only charter members get to display a snazzy little avatar picture!

6. only charter members get to see the info posted in the charter member forum (not sure that that's always a benefit though :blushing:)

7. only charter members can participate in the current and future coral growth contests.

8. only charter members can borrow from the Library and equipment bank

9. only charter member are able to to serve as a board of director and/or moderator

10. charter members receive discounts at some sponsor stores.

11. only charter members receive discounted prices for MAAST events.

12. charter members are being an active part of a great group.
