Anyone have any experience with these? I'm leaning towards them to light my 175g tank. Any feedback to welcome.

Would be very cool. I wish I had that setup. Maybe it's the tech geek side of me, but I think the AI fixture with a GHL controller is the best lighting system on the market. The complete computer control is amazing.

Yeah, the geek side of me is no doubt what this light appeals to. :)

I just want to make sure SPS and clams would do alright under it. I've seen some PAR readings and they're very high so I don't think it would be a problem be I'd like to know if someone's been successful.

I have had no problem with sps growth under the same led's. I have put together a few led builds useing the cree xgp/xre emitters. I'm now useing t5 only because I didn't have the money for the AI fixture.

That's the reason I didn't buy one a couple of years ago. Try PMing wesheltonj - he's had one for a while.

They are expensive but not in the long run (bulb replacement, need for a chiller, electricity, etc). Because of this I think it's worth the initial investment.

But... How much cheaper than say a good T5 setup vs. the current capital outlay?

Not any cheaper than T5's but my tank is pretty deep and I want to make sure I go with lights that will penetrate well. Else, I probably would go with T5's. I dunno though, I'm pretty sold on the AI fixtures. So awesome.

Na, the extra shifts I'm working for Chris practically pays for it. Take that! And don't be jealous!
