What is the best way to clean filter socks?

when I still used filter socks I washed them in the washmachine without detergent. Came out clean enough.

I was kinda worried about any soap/etc. getting on them.

yes I don't use detergent and just set it for an extra rinse.
Didn't have any problems with it but am no longer using filter socks

I would not use the washer. Wash a load of clothes with no detergent and tell me if you get soap bubbles after the machine starts?

You most likely will because most of us use way too much detergent even if we only use the recommended dose.

A lot of articles that discuss going green in the home address this.

I would guess that you would probably not have a problem like Karin, especially in a large system but I still wouldn't chance it.

Oh, forgot to say that I clean mine with a water hose using a strong narrow sprayer. A pressure washer would be even better.

Do you rinse with RO, or just spray it off with the hose?

I just spray it off with hose, if I had a smaller system i'd probably rinse with RO

I've cleaned mine in the washer (no detergent, hot water, extra rinse) for a year now with no issues. Just got a box of 25 from filterbag.com so will only have to do a load about once every 3 months

We use the washing machine with no detergent and an extra rinse cycle. :) Both come out clean..

When I used them, I washed them with bleach only and then washed again with double rinse, then air dry. I believe Greenmako did the same with his, I think I got the idea from him and RC.
