Ok I desided to run t5's untill I can build a killer led system. I just need some help picking out bulbs. 6x39w I have a couple ideas. I don't like a super blue tank, but don't want it too white.

1 fiji purple
2 uvl super actinics 420nm
1 ice cap twilight blue 460nm
1 uvl 12k
1 uvl 14k

1 uvl pro color 650-720nm
2uvl super actinics 420nm
1 ice cap twilight blue 460nm
1 uvl 12k
1 uvl 14k

How do those sound? Would that be to much white?

I think both will be pretty blue. More white light is in the 10k range. I have 4 acntics and 2 10k bulbs and my light is white/clear look.

2 uvl super actinics

after comparing those bulbs to some cheap glo's there pretty weak looking not bright by any means really disappointing i use to really like the uvl SA because ti made corals pop but i think there is better choices out there

I like the ATI Blue +. If it were me I would run in this order the following combo

Front - Blue+
UVL aquasun
Pro Color
ATI Blue+
UVL Actinic White
ATI Blue+

The above combo is similar to what I ran in my 6X54 fixture. If you want to stay away from too blue then you need to ditch as many actinics as you can. The Blue+ will give you a blue tint to help with color plus they run great on PAR values. The pro Color and Actinic white will also help w/ color on the coral and not sacrifice PAR. Save up and buy a couple of extra bulbs to play with

ATI all the way. Ive only used t-5s on the tank i have now and use ati's and i loooove them, my tank pops so much.

Ive got 7 bulbls, 3 blue+, 2 pure actinic and 2 10k and my tank has awesome colors, not blue at all when all are on but everything pops and has SO much color.

Thanks everyone, I think I will start with the 3 ati blue +, aquasun, pro color, actinic white. Then grab a ice cap twilight blue, giesemann 11k aquablue. That should be a good start.

I would use this order of bulbs except I would change the pro color to a fiji purple. Pro color bulbs have been known to promote algae growth.

Sorry to resurect this thread, but I have a question about the ATI bulbs. I have a 4x54w fixture and would like to run the following:
ATI Blue+
ATI AquaBlue
ATI Blue+
ATI Procolor (or KZ Fiji Purple)

Question is... where can I find these bulbs here in San Antonio? I've looked several places and thusfar have turned up nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

Unless you get one of the sponsors or stores to order them in specifically for you, you are out of luck. I have not been able to find ATI bulbs locally. Unless someone has brought them in recently that I am unaware of.

i think the issue is that vendors dont stock them and the ones who do dont offer much of anything else which means your stuck making a huge order on bulbs ....

Ill check with Jason if this is still the case you may also want to try Jeremy over at Reefs2u.com he was going to get some ATI bulbs in but I couldn’t wait any longer so I just ordered mine online….

i ordered the same bulbs that you listed but a uvl 75/ 25 instead of fiji purple try aquacave for a online vendor I think that’s were I got mine for 7 dollars in shipping only took a week to get

I have 1 Giesemann actinic, 1 UVL actinic, 1 UVL 11 or 12K? And 1 ATI Blue Special. Someone who use to work at Reefs to U ("C") sold me on it and I was very pleased. Some vendor needs to pick up the ATI line? I got my Giesemann at Aquatek.
