so what is it that you need.
Led star...blue and white
and a driver
what else is needed
interested...especially because my hqi puts out lots of heat

LED's, a driver, a heat sink and fans to draw the heat away are the bulk of the cost. If you're building a custom enclosure as well, obviously that will add to it -- a retrofit will be less costly however.

Oh, and depending on the driver used, you'll need a power supply as well -- buckpucks require external power, meanwells do not.

Make sure to get emitters on stars already. The emitter needs to be reflow soldiered on the star, not the easiest job.
