I am somewhat new to the saltwater aquarium world and because I live in an apartment and tend to move more frequently than most, I opt for smaller tanks. I have a 26 gallon bow front and a 20 gallon hex. I picked this light up for my 20 gallon hex and have fallen in love. It was a little higher in cost but in the end the light output and the sleek sexy look of this compact metal halide had even my budget weary wife nodding in approval. The shimmer effect given off by this light is great and I without doupt recommend this light for any smaller tank enthusiast (75w) or even the larger tank holder (150w) who want more control over focused points of lighting in their reef systems.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm hoping to be looking for one for my nano.

They are great lights and show well, but i've had nothing but bad experiences with them. Out of the 6 we've had 2 of the ballast went out within a year and all 6 have been either modified or tossed because the hinges, they strip out way to easily. Metal screws with a plastic nut supporting a geared arm holding the lamp up in its postion doesn't make for a good combination unless they've made a change in their design, that in my opinion would be the weak point.
