i think i am finally happy with my fish stock list. i have only been in this hobby for about 6-7m but i researched the hell out of what fish i really wanted.
i already had a Tibicen Angelfish whom is not the most colorful angel but i like him. i always wanted an ocellaris clownfish, and upon researched decided on firefish, powder brown tang, and cleaner wrasse now i have them all
1 tibicen angel
1 clown
3 orange firefish
2 purple firefish
1 powder brown
1 cleaner wrasse
in a 125g show tank

all i would like now is another watchman goby (the last one ended up in the overflow somehow, poor guy) with a pistolshrimp
and i think i will be done.

are you happy with you stock? what is it? what size tank?

I am mostly happy with my stocking list.

I currently have:
1 mandarin
2 ocellaris clowns
5 PJ Cardinals
2 Eviota Pygmy Gobies
1 Midas Blenny
1 blue gold blenny

I'd prefer to have:
2 mandarin
2 ocellaris clowns
0-3 PJ Cardinals
4-5 Trimma Pygmy Gobies
1 Midas Blenny
1 blue gold blenny
4-5 Anthias

If I had to do it over I'd go with a smaller group of cardinal (3 instead of 5) or no cardinals since I wanted schooling fish and am now going for anthias anyway.

I'd also prefer to have a 5ft 150g tank instead of a 6ft 125g tank... :D

10 BIG blue/green chromis
5 disbar anthias
vamphire tang
yellow tang
desjardinii tang
Flame Angel
Bluespot Jawfish
Midas Blenny
Linear Blenny
Pair of Picasso Clowns

Very happy  other than I miss my male Bluespot, and if I knew the chromis were going to be that big and that all of them would live, I would have only gotten half as many.

The only one I'm not happy with is the flametail (looks more like a bicolor) blenny who loves fleshy lps all of the sudden.
Once I get a bigger/covered tank I am going to try some sunburst anthias.

can not say i am happy but can not complain right now. i have a orange shoulder tang , a copperband butterfly, yellow tang, 6 line wrasse, 3 chromis, 2 yellow tail damsels 1 dragon goby, 1 diamond goby, 1 coral banded shrimp that actualy does a good cleaning on the fish. tank is 150gal w/15gal sump/15gal refug. would like to add 1 more tang clown tang or a powder brown. has anyone ever kept 1 alive for over a year or longer. i tryed a powderblue but lost him after 3 months man was i crushed, this is the one fish i would love to have but just can not keep them to live in my tank. are the clown and powder brown just as hard to keep. my water paremeters are good. maybe a green mandrin would work . i know they are hard to keep fed but if i have a refug with a lot pods i should be alright, i hope.:shades:

I'm not too happy with mine. It's getting better now that I have a pair of GC Onyx clowns...but the rest is kind of boring. I have been focusing on corals over the last year.

Cleaner Wrasse
Cleaner Shrimp
Yellow Tang
Yellow Watchman Goby
GCReef Black Onyx Clown Pair
3 chromis
Saphire damsel

....tried beefing the stock up and didn't have much luck....so my time has been going towards coral.

im down with that idea. i really enjoy coral. fish seem to be more frusterating. that is why i am all about cheap fish. i have gotten really lucky with the great deals from reefs2u.

cleaner wrasse (free from firewater)
powder brown ($20.00 from reefs2u)
orange firefish ($7.00 each reefs2u = $21.00)
purple firefish ($14.00 each reefs2u = $28.00)
clown (already in tank)
angel (already in tank)
total-------------------------------->$70.00

Semi happy. My BC 29

What about the 180g?

What about the 180g?

Im still working on that list. The tank wont see any water for at 1-2 months, hopefully sooner than later. It will not be a reef so it will be able to have some really cool non-reef safe fish.

Heres my mock list so far

Two Line Monacle Bream
Richmond or pink face wrasse
Chritmas wrasse
Puffer- Porcupine or dogface
Picasso Trigger
Black Trigger
Koran Angel
Harlequin Tusk
I want a group of 3 tangs. Either yellows or convicts
Black Tang
Possible eel

This list im sure will be changed a few times, so my final stocked tank is uncertain but im shooting for something like this. The above list is pushing it on overstocking IMO so I will most likely thin it out or go with a few smaller species.

For my tank dimensions, I am happy. 36x18x21. I want anthias and tangs, but for now:

2 Pink skunks
1 Longnose hawkfish
1 bicolor blenny
1 bangaii cardinal
1 target mandarin

It isn't an exotic list, but Everyone is hardy, gets along or ignores each other and that's what I prefer.
