Xtalreef only says this:
"HAIRY CRABS Their are many types of hairy crabs. In general, most are bad and opportunistic feeders (other than mithrax which have a smooth body, hairy legs, and "scoop" shaped claws). I am against killing any creatures whenever possible so if you find one of these guys, give him a home in your sump or with a friend or your LFS."

If I have other stuff in the sump, like my weird mollusk/sponge, would he be a bother down there?

Possibly a Mithrax Crab: (see second pic, first row under Mithrax)

I have been guilty of hastily and brutally removing a crab that had been innocent of any crimes. With 20/20 hing sight in mind, I would suggest offering your crab up for adoption to a fowlr member if you are hesitant about its residency.
