Well we went to Houston to see the in-laws and I got the opportunity to do a little LFS visitation. I was very impressed with T &T Fish and Reptile. This is by far the best store in Southeast Texas. The tanks were incredible and maintenance was top-notch. The Coral selection was amazing. It would be a worthwhile trip to make the trip here from SA. Friendly, courteous and knowledgeable staff made the visit very enjoyable. They were the Vendor at TMAC that had the 1' thick acrylic cube that Alex bought and James modeled his acrylic tank by at GCReef. They are well worth the trip...Kudos Guys and Thanks for the hospitality...

i have been there multiple times and i would have to agree it is a nice store, but not the best in houston. based solely on appearance and cleanliness i would definitely say the fish gallery has every store beat. and i would venture to say any store in south texas.
also, on a side note. why do people call houston south-east texas? that is just east texas isn't it? i mean on a map it isn't in the southern part. just like calling s.a. south texas, i never got that. if anything s.a. is central texas. corpus, or heck, brownsville is south texas. ok-enough of the rant...

Yea Alex, I went there too. The store was great but the coral selections were crap. The only corals that looked good were in the display and not for sale. I was told that they were moving, maybe their corals went first... The 3 other places I went to had crappy corals subjects too....it's sad to see ORA frags RTN'ing.

I guess this could turn into a tough debate depending on aquarists interests and preferences, TnT is an awesome store with cool stuff, I too agree...I met the nephew of the owner, I forgot his name, but a really nice guy and they have a mature SPS tank that blew my mind, it was freakin awesome, and I think it had been growing for like 6 years. They also had a really cool setup, and when I was there, had some amazing colored aussie wellysos...but, definitely an above averaged fish store.
But, the Fish Gallery is nice and fancy, in the high-end side of Houston and they definitely price their livestock to help pay their rent, they are pretty darn expensive, but they earn that with the ultra nice coral and livestock that they provide. Even though I am not a FW fan at all, they have a huge freshwater section that is nice. Lately though, as I have been going to Houston for work, I have been growing more unimpressed with their selection.
But, the nicest store in houston, from my opinion, has to be City Pets off of Beltway 8 and Beechnut! Get this, they get in FOUR SHIPMENTS a WEEK!!! IN LFS terms, that is unheardof, and lots of work, but tons of selections for customers. They can do this because they have been in biz for 20+ years and have tons of floor traffic. Everytime I go in there, they have the most amazing fish you ever hear of, the most amazing corals, 1000s of selections of zoa frags, LPS and SPS, and you all know how crazy I am about pricing, there pricing is unreal because their aim is to get it out as quick as possible to make room for new stuff. And, one term I always use to describe them is EXOTIC, because they have so much crazy stuff that you always hear of but never see...Just my humble opinion, not to hijack BigBird's thread because TnT is a great place, and their SPS tank rivals Reef Central TOTM winners!

Michael, I went there too and I guess they missed a shipment this week. I have known Donnie for years and always go there. Always nice seeing him and dealing with him. Yesterday could have been an off day...
