I contacted INSTAR to see what they could offer a discount and their reply was:

Absolutely we do. Free shipping for MAAST of San Antonio and we can
work delivery for most any day and time to coordinate with your group's
schedule, even a Saturday or Sunday. In addition to this, each order
will be packed per person so you don't have to try to separate and
re-package these soft bodied little creatures when they are delivered.
We will also allow each person to pick something Free from the farm to
go along with their order. I am not sure if we will have additional
things to select from but right now what we are offering Free can be
seen on our website at instarfarm.com.

A word about the Free item we will give to MAAST group buy participants:
The mini Tiger Brittle Starfish or Rooted Macro Algaes can be useful for
many different situations. One of the highest macros in Beta Carotene,
a pro-vitamin, is the feather Caulerpa mexicana and makes a great treat
for tangs and angels. It also enhances the disease resistance in fish
when grown in an attached refugium. Either of the macros will do that
but the one most pallatable for fish to eat is the C. mexicana. Of
course with rooted macro algaes they are natural hosts to many
beneficial micro organisms. They may also host some annoying things
like Aiptasia so a few days of isolation in quaranteen for safety is
recommended if such a thing may be a concern.

If we would like to go forward with the order I can get more information about how to get the order going (if someone else hasn't already). Thanks!

Sounds good so far.

Any word on $$$?

Price has to be good, especially considering INSTAR is not currently a sponsor (to my knowledge). Otherwise would prefer to purchase from a MAAST sponsor. I won't post any sponsor prices here out of respect for the sponsors but feel free to PM if you have any questions.

Thanks for looking into this Julia! :)

Are these pests?

No. They control Aptasia very well.

I guess there are good Nudibranchs and bad ones. I remember reading an article here:

Not yet. Julia is still in the process of setting up the GB and getting info.

Exactly. These guys survive by eating only aptasia and the multiply readily in the aquarium as long as there is aptasia for them to eat.

Thanks

So do they eat anything else? Will they all starve once they eradicated the aiptasia?

They only eat aiptasia...so, yes, they would (or should I say will) starve after all of the aiptasia are consumed. A little sad, but my only other option at this point is to tear down and start again. I have neglected the problem for far too long for any of the other methods to be effective.

well hopefully they can be rehomed to somebody with aiptasia. :)
