I just happen to see what I think are baby fire shrimp. One of my shrimp had it's tail pointing up and it's rear legs going 90 miles a minute, then it looked like it pooped a lot of small stuff. Then they started wiggleing like a larvey. Has any one had any success raising them? I am sure they won't last with all my fish, but I just was amazed. johne

The University of Texas' Marine Science Institute in Port A has done it successfully on a couple of occasions and wrote a scientific paper on it.
We've gotten a few past metamorphosis at GC Reef based on the protocol from UTMSI but survival has been very low in our case and at UT. They have a VERY long larval duration and are difficult to maintain as larvae...
It is possible to do but success as of now has been very limited.

I've read a couple of sources that say not only is the larval stage much longer than, say, peps, but that no one really knows yet what triggers them to settle out.

My fire and cleaner shrimp lay eggs regularly but they are hard to raise.
